Black Phlox Candle Company is a Houston-based, Black- and LGBTQ+-owned candle and fragrance studio founded by Rica and Tasha—two women with a background in healthcare, a love for sensory experiences, and a shared commitment to building intentional community.

 

After years of serving others as a nurse leader and respiratory therapist, we pivoted toward healing through creativity. What began as a few DIY sessions around our kitchen table evolved into a full-service aroma studio that offers candle-making workshops, custom perfume sessions, and signature scent experiences for individuals, couples, and corporate teams.

 

Our mission? To help people pour into themselves, quite literally. Whether you’re joining us in-studio for a BYOB candle-making workshop, booking our mobile perfume bar (Phlox Noir) for a private event, or exploring our handmade candles, fragrances, and gift boxes, we invite you to create something personal—and leave with more than just a product.

 

From date nights and bridal showers to wellness retreats and team-building events, we curate every experience to light up the senses and celebrate self-expression.
